Name: SASSY KISS-Filly
Foaled: March 17, 2010
Sire: Mr. Greeley Dam: Willow Point by Fusaichi Pegasus
Sassy Kiss might better be named Serendipity. This filly somehow slipped through the
cracks on Day 3 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. Her consignors maintain a
good reputation and found RCR Management in the back ring and asked that trainer Bret
Calhoun take a look at the filly. Typically, these yearlings do not exhibit a big walk on the
cushion foam of the back ring, but she sure did. Her movement was outstanding, she had a
keen eye, and a strong physical build. The consignor agreed that if she did not vet they
would take her back and 90-seconds later she was ours. The next morning, this black beauty
looked just as good and vetted clean as a whistle.
The pedigree of Sassy Kiss would indicate all of the right ingredients to breed an
outstanding race horse. She finds the strong influence of Mr. Prospector in the third
generation of both her top and bottom side. Previously commanding a stud fee as high as
$125,000, Mr. Greeley has been a top-ranked sire whose progeny have earned more than
$52,000,000. His filly crops have been exceptionally strong, including Champion Finsceal
Beo. The first dam Willow Point was an unraced $350,000 yearling purchase sired by
Fusaichi Pegasus. She is half sister to three six-digit earning Stakes Winners, all out of
Medicine Woman, a Graded Stakes Winner herself.
Sassy Kiss is a strong combination of pedigree and athleticism. She raced thirteen times for
our stable, winning, four, and returning more than $106,000 to her owners plus a claim of
$40,000.
