Mike is the Managing Partner of Royal Colors Racing.  Having grown up just north of the bluegrass of Kentucky, he has been around thoroughbred racing for most of his life.  As an owner of multiple horses in various partnership groups, Mike has been able to aggregate the best aspects of each of these syndicates and bring them together in Royal Colors Racing.  His expansive knowledge of the industry, passion for the sport, and desire to see all the partners enjoy their experience as owners makes Royal Colors Racing your partnership of choice.

Bret was born in Dallas, TX and consistently ranks among the top trainers in the country.  What we like about Bret is his candor, his ability to choose young talented horses, and his accessibility.  He has trained multiple stakes winners including Cactus Ridge and Mr. Nightlinger.  In most cases, Bret has an ownership stake in the horses he trains for Royal Colors Racing and his interests remain aligned with the partner owners on each horse.

Training horses is part of the Milligan family bloodline.  Eddie’s father trained thoroughbreds and his brother is currently an active trainer on major tracks throughout the U.S.  Eddie was as well.  However, his focus is now on running Twin Oaks Training Center in Murchison, TX where he is able to commit his efforts towards developing future winners and focusing on his family.  RCR has used Eddie and his team to break and initiate the training of many of its yearlings.

Summer manages the marketing side of Royal Colors Racing.  Organizing suites, tables, RCR parties, barn tours, auction visits, etc. is on her list.  She also sends out partner correspondence and RCR marketing materials.  Her favorite task is ordering and sending winner’s circle photos.

Alison specializes in equine law and supports the partnership legal needs of Royal Colors Racing.  She grew up around ranching and farming in Texas and after several years with “big city” firms, she revived her passion for working with horses and horse owners.

A Tax Partner with PMB Helin Donovan, Jim has more than 34 years of accounting experience including work with other horse owners, breeders, and ownership syndicates.  Jim’s firm supports the accounting and tax preparation needs of Royal Colors Racing.  Jim is passionate about the sport and makes an annual pilgrimage to Saratoga every Fall.

Dr. David Stephens (Veterinarian)

Dr, Stephens provides all of the pre-screening evaluation of horses purchased by Royal Colors Racing.  He also services any medical treatment and surgical needs for RCR horses residing in North Texas, Southern Oklahoma, or Western Louisiana.  David partnered with Dr. Scott Weems to establish Weems and Stephens Equine Hospital in 1997, located in Aubrey, Texas.
